Praxis Series™ Assessments

Students seeking teacher certification in the state of Idaho must take Praxis II exams in their content areas; elementary candidates are also required to take a Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching test. Students are required to meet the qualifying score set by the Idaho State Department of Education to enter into an internship experience.

Praxis II Assessments are offered by the Educational Testing Services (ETS). Visit http://www.ets.org/praxis/idaho for a list of required exams, test registration and more.

Idaho Teacher Certification Praxis II information can be found at http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/teacher_certification/praxis.htm

Beginning October 2010, ETS is offering Elementary Education: Content Knowledge in a computer-delivered format; HOWEVER, students will need to find a Prometric Testing Center in order to take the test. In our region, the University of Idaho is a Prometric Test Center, and there is one in Spokane. The test code for this computer-based format is #5014. Students will have to search the ETS website for more information and specific dates for Prometric Testing Centers. They will have to make an appointment with the testing center.

When completing your test registrations, be sure to list LCSC as a score recipient.

After Completing Your Exams...

All test takers will access their test scores via their on line Praxis account. This service is free of charge and will replace the mailing of a paper score report. You will be able to view, print and download your scores for 45 days from the score report date. For more information visit the Frequently Asked Questions About Praxis™ Test Scores.

We highly recommend that you save a copy of your score report for future reference, especially since graduates have been asked to include their Praxis II scores when applying for some teaching jobs.
