PACE Elementary is intended for highly qualified individuals who possess Associate Degrees or their equivalent plus certain core courses. The program includes two summer sessions and field experiences with cohorts organized in both Lewiston and Coeur d'Alene, an intermediate academic year of online classes, and a semester of student teaching near the candidates' residences. During the intermediate academic year elementary candidates receive instruction via the Internet utilizing asynchronous Blackboard courses. Candidates also receive personal web cameras to facilitate advising and internship supervision. Online teaching minors and endorsements are available in English As A Second Language; Gifted/Talented Education; and Special Education. The program is particularly suitable for para-professionals and teachers' aids. Undergraduates earn a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching Certification. The progrm can be tailored for individuals who already hold B.A./B.S. Degrees. PACE supports State of Idaho Provisional Certification and Alternative Authorization: Content Specialist options.

Highly qualified secondary candidates must possess a B.A./B.S. Degree or be eligible to be awarded such a degree. Candidates with majors in non-teaching fields will earn required state content courses as they complete PACE courses. Secondary candidates attend a required three-day on-campus summer orientation and workshop. The secondary PACE program is delivered on the Internet through asynchronous Blackboard courses supported in later phases by web cameras and software provided to the candidates. Post-bac candidates may earn certification in single subject and broadfield preparation. PACE provides individuals opportunities to accelerate based on documented life experiences and demonstrated pedagogical knowledge, skills, and dispositions. Online teaching minors and endorsements are available in English As A Second Language; Gifted/Talented Education; and Special Education. PACE supports individuals on the State of Idaho Provisional Certificate or Alternative Authorization: Content Specialist options. PACE does not support Professional-Technical Certification at this time.
