Praxis Series™ Assessments

Students seeking teacher certification in the state of Idaho must take Praxis II exams in their content areas; elementary candidates are also required to take a Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching test. Students are required to meet the qualifying score set by the Idaho State Department of Education to enter into an internship experience.

When completing your test registrations, be sure to list LCSC as a score recipient.

Secondary Education

Students seeking teacher certification in the state of Idaho must take Praxis II exams in their content areas.

  • English Composite: Secondary Education majors must take:
  •    English Language, Literature, & Composition: Content Knowledge (0041)

  • Kinesiology Major: Physical Education, K-12 and Health, 6-12 majors must take:
  •    Physical Education: Content Knowledge (0091)
  •    Health Education (0550)

  • Mathematics: Secondary Education majors must take:
  •    Mathematics: Content Knowledge (0061)

  • Natural Science: Secondary Education majors must take:
  •    General Science: Content Knowledge (0435)
  •       Plus one of the following:
  •    Biology: Content Knowledge (0235)
  •    Chemistry: Content Knowledge (0245)
  •    Physics: Content Knowledge (0265)
  •    Earth and Space Sciences: Content Knowledge (0571)

  • Social Science: Secondary Education majors must take:

After Completing Your Exams...

All test takers will access their test scores via their on line Praxis account. This service is free of charge and will replace the mailing of a paper score report. You will be able to view, print and download your scores for 45 days from the score report date. For more information visit the Frequently Asked Questions About Praxis™ Test Scores.

We highly recommend that you save a copy of your score report for future reference, especially since graduates have been asked to include their Praxis II scores when applying for some teaching jobs.
