LCSC, State and Nation Celebrate |
| Knowing that
it is right and good to recognize those that serve the public, Governor
Dirk Kempthorne signed a proclamation declaring May 8 as Employee
Recognition Day in Idaho. The date coordinates with the national day
recognizing public employees and, coincidentally, was the exact date on
which Lewis-Clark State College held its Faculty and Staff Recognition
Social. The event, which took place at LCSC’s Williams Conference Center, honored those chosen by their peers for having done an exceptional job of teaching, administering, organizing, managing; whatever work an employee of the college has done extraordinarily well and, in so doing, has served the public well. Individuals honored for excellence in teaching were: |

Faculty Achievement Award Dr. Kathie Wilcox, Humanities Division Recognizes exceptional devotion to achieving a quality learning experience, maintaining high standards of rigor and currency of course content, exhibiting a spirit of academic collegiality, and making a direct impact on students. |

Lewis-Clark State
College Foundation Award Thomas Mayburry, Office of Business Technology For teaching excellence, recognized by students and colleagues; contributions to the profession through scholarly activities, and other contributions to the College and community. |

President’s Award for
Teaching Excellence (3 awards) Rhonda Combs, Office of Business Technology Dr. Matthew Johnston, Natural Sciences Division Lori Stinson, Nursing Division Effectiveness of teaching, quality of scholarly or creative production, and level of service to college or community (as defined in the tenure/promotion criteria). |
