College Guests: Members Present: I. The minutes of December 5, 2003 were approved by unanimous consent. II. The committee welcomed Mary Wak Wak who replaces Pamela Houston as ASLCSC representative. III. Old Business A. Forgiveness Policy 1. In cooperation with members of the Senate Faculty Affairs Committee, the Student Affairs Committee finalized revisions to the Draft Academic Forgiveness Policy (10/27/03). Revisions were made to wording in the section dealing with eligibility conditions for the purpose of clarification. The section dealing with consequences was shortened from two paragraphs to one paragraph to avoid unnecessary verbiage and improve conciseness. 2. The Faculty Affairs Committee will present the final revised draft to the Senate on behalf of both committees. B. Other Topics 1. Continued discussion regarding quality of campus life, dangerous intersections, and the LCSC grading policy were tabled to the next scheduled meeting of the Committee at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 10 in Spalding 300. 2. Arnold Caines reported on ASLCSC efforts to improve dangerous intersections around campus. 3. The committee chair will attempt to schedule a meeting between the chair, Justin Coleman, Mary Wak Wak and the provost to discuss diversity and gender issues. IV. New Business - None V.
