Report to the Faculty Senate

The APC met on Feb. 28 and March 21. 

A.   We continue to discuss the proposed revisions of Policies 2.106 and 2.107 regarding Tenure and Promotion.  On March 21^st, members presented recommendations of their respective divisions which are now being considered for modification of the proposed revisions.  The goal of the committee is to vote on this proposal at our April 11^th meeting, and, pending approval, present the proposal to the Faculty Senate on March 14^th and the Faculty Association on April 27^th.

B.   Division feedback has been solicited regarding the proposed revision of the LCSC Constitution, Policy 2.103 for the General Education Committee.  The Provost agreed to sponsor a “Thinking Through Lunch” on April 1^st in order to provide another opportunity for feedback on this proposal.  The APC will also vote on this proposal at our April 11^th meeting.

C.   Chet Herbst, Director of Assessment, attended the March 21^st meeting to discuss the processes for evaluation of supervisors and explained that the processes for accomplishing both formal and informal evaluation of supervision are being streamlined.  The APC discussed remaining questions, including the purposes and uses of this evaluation and whether there should be policy drafted pertaining to this process as is in place for faculty and employee evaluation.
