Report to the Faculty Senate

The Faculty Budget Liaison Committee has deliberated on several occasions and proposes that the Faculty Senate endorse the following recommendations to the Compensations Review Group and LCSC administrators:

  1. If, at the end of July 2005, the State of Idaho provides funds for a 1% bonus to employees, all LCSC employees with adequate current Performance Evaluation who have been employed since, at least, August 1, 2004, should receive either 1% of their annual salary or $250.00, whichever is greater.
  2. No salary monies from any budget source should be used to fund faculty promotions, which are to be an annual calculated budget line item.
  3. Faculty promotion increments should be increased annually by percentages equal to increases in the cost of living.
  4. All monies accrued from 2005 faculty retirements should be distributed in an equal percentage to all faculty whose salaries are inequitable, assuming adequate annual evaluations.
  5. Monies accrued from the cessation of the early staff and faculty retirements benefits should be used to address salary compression for classified and professional staff employees.
  6. The proposed Salary Step Plan be agreed to by the administration of LCSC, and that the administration propose a plan for implementation of this plan over a designated period of time, e.g. eight years, with the goal of full implementation by AY2013.
