Discussion of Possible Items

Task Force continued discussion of possible items for inclusion in the new
SCE. 

Task Force members voted in favor of using the following items:

• Involvement and Encouragement of Students

  • The instructor showed enthusiasm in teaching the subject.

• Learning Activities and Assessment

  • Instructor creates a learning environment in which students
    are comfortable sharing and exploring ideas

• Course Questions

  • As a result of completing this course, I have gained valuable
    knowledge, skills, and/or insights.

Task Force members discussed the following possible items but did not
decide on whether to recommend their inclusion or exclusion:

• Overall, the amount of material covered in their course was
  appropriate for the available time.

• Overall, assigned course materials (books, handouts, etc.) were
  helpful to me in meeting the objectives of the course.

• Course provides opportunities for additional help, as needed.

Issues to Address Next Meeting

How to pilot the new SCE?  When should it be piloted?  Is it possible to
do it this spring?
