Grant Program
This program will provide support to LCSC faculty for their own development as well as for the improvement
of curricula and instruction. Support includes faculty development activities, consultation for course and media design, and access to facilities
and services for the development of instructional and research materials. Grant proposals regarding stipends will be given lower consideration.
(Support, for the purposes of this grant program, does not include new
computers.) The program's primary target is to improve the quality of
instruction by means of appropriate selection, creation, and/or application of
learning techniques, technologies or curriculum and to promote participation in
professional activities.
The primary purpose of this program is to provide support to LCSC
faculty for their own development of expertise in instruction, discipline, or
scholarly activity.
Eligibility and Funding
All full-time and adjunct
LCSC faculty members are eligible to apply. Teams of two or more may also apply
for a single award. An individual applicant may be a member of more than one
team.
Support for faculty development under this grant program includes any
combination of fees for consultation services for course and media
design, costs of the purchase of qualified equipment or materials, fees
for access to facilities and services for the development of
instructional and research materials, or fees and expenses for
registration and travel to qualified faculty development activities.
Funding is not awarded for new computers, professional
licensures, certification, memberships, advanced degrees, food, or
beverages.
If the award is taken as a cash stipend payable directly to the
faculty member(s), benefits will be deducted from the total award.
Completion of the project is defined as performance of the proposed
activities, the submission of a written report to the Provost's Office documenting project
impact, and a detailed budget report with copies of all expenditures.
Proposal Submission and Processing

copy and past it into the appropriate boxes.
Faculty Development Grants are awarded through a peer review process. Proposals
will be reviewed by members of the LCSC Faculty Development Committee.
An award letter will be sent to the appropriate division.

Expenses
will be paid from the divisions' cost center, which will be reimbursed
at the end of the project and upon receipt of a written report, with a
listing of all expenses.

Copies of all requisitions, IDs and other
proof of expenses must be attached.

The report is to be submitted
to the Provost's Office.
Grant Review Criteria (be sure to address all of them in your
application

Direct improvement of professional
expertise, in discipline, instruction, or in scholarly activities (60%),
-
Direct relationship to the strategic
plans of the College and/or respective division(s) (20%),
-
Appropriate
qualitative/quantitative assessment of impact in terms of faculty
expertise, performance, or productivity measures (20%), and
-
Existence or preparation of
adequate infrastructural support for the proposed activities and their
consequences (Y/N consideration).
