Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(the FAFSA)

The Free Application for Student Aid, or FAFSA, is your key to unlocking the mysteries of the Federal Student Aid programs. This document is the primary source for determining a student’s eligibility for need-based aid. The FAFSA must be completed if you are interested in receiving Federal Student Aid during the academic year. You should complete the FAFSA as early as possible after January 1. A FAFSA form may be picked up at the LCSC Office of Financial Aid in Reid Centennial Hall. An electronic application is also available through the World Wide Web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. Generally, students who apply for Federal Student Aid during the academic year should receive a Renewal Application for the next academic year in the mail. The Renewal Application can be used to apply for financial aid instead of the FAFSA.
