Minority and At Risk Student Scholarship

This $2,700 scholarship is intended to assist talented students who may be at risk of failing to realize their amibitions because of their cultural, economic or physical circumstances. Three awards are available each year and students may be eligible to receive this award for a maximum of four years. To be eligible, students must be an Idaho resident, a graduate of an Idaho high school and meet at least three of the following criteria: be a first-generation college student; be disabled; be a migrant farm worker or other seasonal farm worker or the dependent of a migrant farm woker or other seasonal farm worker; have substantial financial need; or be a minority person, i.e., a black non-Hispanic, a Hispanic, A Native American, or a member of another ethnic group whose members have participated in higher education at a rate lower than their occurence in the general population. A separate application is required and must be submitted by March 1. Student must provide grade transcripts. For more information contact your high school counselor or the Financial Aid Office.

Avista Corporation Minority Scholarship Program

Two, one year scholarships valued at $1,000 each are available to minority students attending LCSC each year. One scholarship will be awarded to a Native American student and one scholarship will be awarded to a minority student. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5. Ike Wilson Memorial Scholarship

Each year one scholarship is awarded to a Native American student who has completed at least 15 credits at LCSC. Students must have cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have at least one parent enrolled in a state or federally recognized tribe or be of Natve American status from Canada. A separate application is required and must be submitted by March 1. The amount of the award varies. Irene Carlson Gnaedinger Memorial Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must be a graduate of Lapwai High School, demonstrate a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and enroll for a minimum of 12 credits in a baccalaureate degree program. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. One annual award is available and the amount is variable. A separate application is required and must be submitted by March 1. For more information, contact the Financial Aid Office.

Dean and Colleen Mahoney Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must be a full-time student enrolling for 12 or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given to students who are Native American or Hispanic. Preference will also be given to students with demonstrated financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid Office. One annual award is available and the amount is variable. The scholarship is renewable if the above criteria is met. A separate application is required and must be submitted by March 1.
