How do I get financial aid while attending concurrently with LCSC and North Idaho College (NIC)?

What do I need to do before the semester starts?

  • Be sure you have been admitted as degree seeking with both LCSC and NIC.
  • Have a current FAFSA on file with the LCSC Financial Aid Office.
  • Complete a Concurrent Enrollment Certification (obtained from NIC Registrar's Office) and submit to NIC Registrar's Office after you have registered for NIC courses.
  • Sign and return all needed financial aid information (Award Letter, Conditions of Award, etc.) to the LCSC Financial Aid Office.
  • Complete your Loan Agreement (MPN) and Entrance Counseling at https://studentloans.gov.

How many credits do I have to be enrolled in to qualify for concurrent enrollment?

  • Your NIC and LCSC credits will be combined to calculate enrollment, but you MUST have at least 6 credits with LCSC to receive financial aid from LCSC.
  • Students who qualify for institutionally-funded scholarships from LCSC must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 LCSC credits.

How do I pay my fees?

  • Concurrently enrolled students are required to pay fees to NIC and LCSC separately.
  • LCSC tuition and fees will be paid prior to any financial aid disbursements. Residual funds may be available to pay your NIC fees.
  • LCSC fees can be paid at the Cashier's Window, outside the Controller's Office, or on WarriorWeb. They must be paid by the 5th day of class (for Fall and Spring semesters). Contact NIC to determine their fee payment deadline and payment options.
  • If you need to defer your fees at NIC before the start of a given term, contact the NIC Business Office.

When will my aid post to my LCSC student account?

  • Financial aid based on your LCSC credits will post either before the semester starts (if all paperwork is in before the deadline) or once attendance has been confirmed in each of your LCSC courses.
  • Additional financial aid based on your NIC courses will be posted to your LCSC student account once your attendance has been confirmed by NIC and reported to LCSC.

How do I get my NIC class attendance confirmed?

  • The NIC Registrar's Office will notify the LCSC Financial Aid Office of class attendance after NIC's 10th day.
  • If you were unable to have attendance confirmed by the 10th day you will need to have your NIC professor notify the LCSC Financial Aid Office via email at finaid@lcsc.edu. The email must be from your instructor and include:
    • Your name
    • Course title, course and section numbers
    • Date(s) of attendance
    • The email should come from the instructor's official school email

What do I need to do after the semester ends?

  • Order an official NIC transcript and have it sent to the LCSC Registrar's Office.
  • The transcript request form can be found at http://www.nic.edu/registrar.

How will Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) be calculated?

  • To be satisfactory students MUST:
    • Successfully pass at least 6 credits at LCSC and
    • Maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average and 
    • Earn passing grades in at least 67% of the credits listed on your transcript.
  • Students who do no meet the above criteria are at risk of losing eligibility.
