Financial Aid

I received a postcard...what does it mean?

My FAFSA has issues or was rejected.

  • Log into your FAFSA at https://fafsa.ed.gov using your password you created and your FSA ID.
  • Click on “Make FAFSA Corrections.”
  • When done making corrections, sign and submit your FAFSA.
  • If you are a dependent student, your parent will also need to sign the FAFSA with their FSA ID after corrections are made.

I am not admitted to LCSC.

I am admitted tentatively.

  • Your admission file is missing something such as a transcript.
  • You may be offered financial aid, but it cannot be disbursed.
  • Once you have been fully admitted, notify the Financial Aid Office.

My Award Letter is now available.

  • Your Award Letter states the financial aid you are being offered.
  • Use the Award Letter Checklist on WarriorWeb to assist you in understanding the steps to take to accept your awards.
  • Log into WarriorWeb to view and print your Award Letter.
  • The Financial Aid Office does not mail out Award Letters for Federal Aid.
  • You should respond to your Award Letter within two weeks.

I was selected for Verification.

  • LCSC may select your FAFSA for Verification which is a process that confirms the data you reported on your FAFSA is accurate.
  • Being selected for Verification does not necessarily mean you did anything wrong on your FAFSA.
  • Dependent students will need to submit a Dependent Verification Worksheet and Tax Return Transcripts or Non-Filer Forms for both the student and parent.
  • Independent students will need to submit an Independent Verification Worksheet and a Tax Return Transcript or Non-Filer Form for the student only.
  • Refer to the Verification Checklist on WarriorWeb to guide you through the process or go to I was selected for Verification… what do I need?

I am running out of Pell.

  • You may have used the maximum lifetime limit for Pell.
  • Full-time students can only receive Pell Grants for the equivalency of 6 years.
  • Contact the Financial Aid Office regarding your current Pell Grant eligibility.
