Financial Aid To-Do List

The fall semester is right around the corner. Now is the best time to make sure all your financial aid paperwork is in order to avoid delays. Below are a few questions to help you make sure everything is set to go. If you have any questions about your next steps don't hesitate to call 208-792-2224. We're here to help!

Have you checked your LCMail account?

Various offices are sending you emails throughout the summer to assist in preparing for the upcoming semester. Be sure to check your LCMail on a regular basis to avoid missing any deadlines and important information. 

Have you been fully admitted?

Financial aid cannot post to your student account until you are fully admitted as a degree seeking student with Admissions. If you have just graduated from high school or finished a semester at another institution, be sure your final transcripts have been received by the Admission Office. Admissions can be reached at 208-792-2210.

Have you submitted all required documentation to the Financial Aid Office?

If you have been selected for verification or need to provide additional documentation to the Financial Aid Office, be sure to submit it as soon as possible. You can view needed information on WarriorWeb under "My Documents" or call the Financial Aid Office at 208-792-2224.

If you need to begin the financial aid process it's not too late.  Be sure to complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible.

Have you signed and submitted your Award Letter and Conditions of Award?

If your Award Letter is available on WarriorWeb you will want to print, sign and submit it to the Financial Aid Office. The Award Letter Checklist on WarriorWeb is available to assist you with completing the process. Don't forget to submit any Scholarship Contracts and Thank You letters that may be required.

Have you completed your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling?

If you are a new loan borrower, be sure that your Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling have been completed at www.studentloans.gov. You will need your FSA ID to log in to the website. 

Have you registered and does your enrollment level match your financial aid awards?

For your aid to post to your account in August, the number of credits you are enrolled in must match the enrollment level listed on your Award Letter. If you have changed the number of credits you will be taking, be sure to update your credit load with the Financial Aid Office so your Award Letter information can be adjusted.

Have you checked your Student Account Statement?

Billing charges will be available on your Student Account Statement July 17 (This will only include charges. Financial aid information will not be posted until August 8). If you have any questions about your Student Account Statement be sure to contact Student Accounts at 208-792-2202.  

Have you set up your Direct Deposit?

Residual financial aid funds can be directly deposited to your bank account. You can sign up for direct deposit on WarriorWeb. You must completed your Intent to Attend for pre-term direct deposit.

Have you completed your Intent to Attend?

Confirm your attendance by completing the Intent to Attend. You will be able to complete the Intent to Attend process from July 17 - August 9. For direct deposit residual funds to be available before the semester begins, the Intent to Attend must be completed.

Do you need a payment plan?

If you have questions about your Student Account Statement or need to set up a Payment Plan be sure to contact Student Accounts. It's never too early to get things arranged. Student Accounts can be reached at 208-792-2202.

Is your aid posted to your Student Account?

Your financial aid will post to Student Accounts on August 8. Be sure to review the information as soon as possible. If your aid is not on your Student Account Statement, be sure to contact the Financial Aid Office with your questions and concerns.

Have you finalized your housing arrangements?

Staying on campus? Be sure to stay in contact with Residence Life. Residence Life can be reached at 208-792-2053.

Staying off campus? If you need to secure a rental the Valley has several rental agencies, including Ray J White & Sons 208-746-7500, All Valley Property Management Inc 509-758-9747, and Lewis Clark Property Management Services 208-743-2923.
