Loan Entrance Counseling Session

If you are not sure where you need to start, the following steps will assist you in determining which process(es) you need to complete to finalize your loan awards.

Step 1

Are you a returning LCSC student who has previously borrowed a student loan while attending LCSC?  If yes, continue to Step 2.  If no, go to Step 3.

Step 2

If you have previously borrowed while attending LCSC and wish to retain your previous/current lender you will need to initial on the reverse side of the Lender Selection Form (see heading:  Previous Borrowers), then sign the Signature section and return the form to the Financial Aid Office.  No further action will be required.

***As a previous borrower retaining your previous/current lender, you will not need to complete a new Master Promissory Note, just be sure to sign and return your Award Letter to the Financial Aid Office.***

If you have previously borrowed while attending LCSC, but would like to change lenders please continue to Step 3.

Step 3

After a careful review, LCSC has provided a list of lenders we feel will be able to help you with your borrowing needs.  However, you are not required to use any of these lenders. 

If you are a new/transfer student to LCSC, a returning student to LCSC who has never borrowed, or a current borrower who would like to change lenders please review the lender list provided below then continue to Step 5.

If you would like to use a lender not listed, please continue to Step 4. 

Step 4

If you would like to use a lender not listed above you will have the opportunity to indicate your preferred lender on the Lender Selection Form.  Be sure to include the Lender Code (if known) for quicker processing.

Step 5

Once you have selected your lender be sure to sign the Signature section of the Lender Selection Form and return it to the Financial Aid Office.  If this is a new lender for you, be sure to complete your Master Promissory Note at the lender's website.  If you are a first time borrower remember to also complete the Loan Entrance Counseling Session.

The Lender Selection Form is required to be completed, signed and submitted to the Financial Aid Office before your first loan can be processed.
