International Student Scholarships

Be sure to first read the submission instructions relating to the version of the General Application you are submitting (paper or online). Only one General Application is required per student. If completing the paper version, be sure to include the checklist indicating the scholarships for which you would like to be considered.

General Applications, paper or online, must be submitted by the March 1 deadline.

All scholarships require a General Application, unless otherwise noted in the scholarship description. For scholarships requiring a separate application, it will be listed below the description.

International Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship

Lewis-Clark State College offers international out-of-state tuition scholarships to qualified international students. To apply, interested students should submit a one-page statement describing their educational goals and reasons for choosing LCSC. Application materials should be submitted to International Programs at international@lcsc.edu. The application deadline is two weeks before the beginning of each semester. 

  • Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5

This is a renewable semester award. To receive the award for the duration of enrollment at LCSC you must meet the following requirements: maintain a 2.5 semester GPA, complete 12 or more credits each semester and volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per semester. After two semesters of enrollment at LCSC, the scholarship amount can increase, dependent upon your cumulative GPA at the end of each semester.

The International Student Scholarship          

This scholarship was created for the purpose of offsetting the educationally related expenses of an international student(s) attending Lewis-Clark State College.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Preference:
    • Given to international students
    • Students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the International Programs Office

community college out-of-state transfer student scholarship

This scholarship has been set up to assist out-of-state community college transfer students pursuing their Bachelor's Degree at Lewis-Clark State College.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a Bachelor Degree Program
  • Must be a new, direct out-of-state transfer to LCSC
  • Must have an Associate Degree from a Washington or Oregon Community College
  • Must enroll within one year of graduating with Associate Degree

Awards are equal to out-of-state tuition. This award is renewable for up to six semesters or graduation, whichever occurs first. Renewal is based on maintaining a 3.0 GPA and completing at least 12 credits per semester.

Students who are currently enrolled at LCSC are not eligible.

A separate application is required and must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office.

THE STEM SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established by Nayan Adhikary to help students who intend to graduate from LCSC and pursue a career in a STEM field.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
  • Full time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field
  • Have a class standing of sophomore or above
  • Be an international student
  • Preference:
    • First preference will be given to a student of Nepalese descent

Frank and Gladys Hopkins Endowed Scholarship (Athletics)          

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Be participating on the LCSC baseball team

The Alpha Delta Kappa Annual Scholarship (Education)        

Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary organization for women educators.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in Education
  • Must be a senior
  • Must be accepted into the Teacher Education Program

Harry Campbell Estate Endowed Scholarship for Education (Education)         

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Must be accepted into the Teacher Education Program

N.I.C.E. Ronald D. Corn Scholarship (Education)         

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Be an incoming freshman
  • Preference:
    • Students pursuing a degree in Education

The Michael and Phillip Duley Memorial Endowed Scholarship (Education)                  

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in Education
  • Have a class standing of junior or above

Kenneth R. and Mildred M. Hensley Scholarship (Education)                  

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in Education or preparing for a career in teaching with a major in History or Physical Education

Herbert Howe Perpetual Scholarship (Education)                  

The intent of this scholarship is to support aspiring teachers.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Must have completed at least 12 upper division Education credits
  • Be admitted to the Teacher Education Program

Glen and Babs Carlson Endowed Scholarship (General)       

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

The Eleanor Perry Memorial Endowed Scholarship (General)          

This scholarship was established by the Lewiston-Clarkston Soroptimist Club to offset the educationally related expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College student.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Students must be in the final year of their program

John AK Barker Endowed Scholarship (Humanities)         

The intent of this scholarship is to assist students who have demonstrated performance in all aspects of theatre.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Have a current standing of sophomore or above
  • Preference:
    • Given to non-traditional students

Norman Maclean Scholarship (Humanities)                 

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • At least half-time, enrolled in six or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in English
  • Have a current standing of junior or above
  • Preference:
    • May be given to full-time students

John L. Nydegger Scholarship (Humanities)                  

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Have a current standing of sophomore or above
  • Have taken theatre courses, acquiring a GPA of 3.0 in those courses
  • Preference:
    • Students intending to pursue a career in teacher education and to those involved in backstage and performance work

The Gene magleby natural science endowed scholarship (natural sciences & mathematics)

  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in either Biology or Chemistry
  • Have a class standing of sophomore or junior
  • Demonstrate interest in post-graduate education in the health professions, including medical school, dental school, pharmacy school, or physical therapy

The Laura Ann Peck Memorial Endowed Scholarship (Natural Sciences & Mathematics)           

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in Mathematics
  • Have successfully completed three semesters of calculus

The Betty Mae Alvord Allwine Memorial Scholarship in Nursing (Nursing)           

This scholarship was created to honor Betty Mae’s incredible spirit for life and her dedication to the health industry.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Be enrolled in the Nursing Program

Carlson-Lewiston Rotary Scholarship (Nursing)                     

  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Have a current standing of junior or above
  • Be in good standing in the Nursing program

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic performance, leadership potential, nursing ability and potential, active involvement in a professional nursing association (INSA or INA) and/or Nursing Division and/or community.

Louisa Murphy Nursing Scholarship (Nursing)                     

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Be enrolled in the Nursing Program
  • Preference:
    • Given to a second year student who has demonstrated significant commitment to the nursing profession and their studies

Avista Scholars Scholarship (Professional-Technical)         

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must be an incoming freshman
  • Preference:
    • Students pursuing one of the following degrees; Automated Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Heating, Air Conditioning and Appliance Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology or Welding Technology

Hinman-Jensen Endowed Scholarship (Professional-Technical)         

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's of Applied Technology or Applied Science degree
  • Preference:
    • Students who have not previously received this scholarship

The LCSC Welding Club Scholarship (Professional-Technical)         

This scholarship was established by the LCSC Welding Club with the purpose of offsetting the educationally related expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College Welding Technology student.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Must have completed at least one semester as a full-time student enrolled in the Welding Technology Program

The William G. Clouser Social Work Scholarship (Social Science)        

This scholarship was established in honor of William G. Clouser. Dr. Clouser was a faculty member in the Social Work Program for seven years and currently serves as the Social Work Program Director.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • At least quarter-time, enrolled in nine or more credits per semester
  • Students must be entering their senior year
  • Must submit a personal letter describing why you've chosen a career in social work
