International Student Scholarships

For scholarships requiring a General Application, first read the submission instructions relating to the version of application you are submitting (paper or electronic). General Applications, paper or electronic, must be submitted by the March 1 deadline. Only one General Application is required per student, be sure to include the checklist indicating the scholarships for which you would like to be considered.

For all other scholarships, instructions for applying will be noted or a separate application will be provided with the scholarship description.

International Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship

Lewis-Clark State College offers international out-of-state tuition scholarships to qualified international students. To apply, interested students should submit a one-page statement describing their educational goals and reasons for choosing LCSC. Application materials should be submitted to International Programs at international@lcsc.edu The application deadline is two weeks before the beginning of each semester.  To be eligible, students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5. This is a renewable semester award. To receive the award for the duration of enrollment at LCSC you must meet the following requirements: maintain a 2.5 semester GPA, complete 12 or more credits each semester and volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per semester. After two semesters of enrollment at LCSC, the scholarship amount can increase, dependent upon your cumulative GPA at the end of each semester.

The International Student Scholarship          

This scholarship was created for the purpose of offsetting the educationally related expenses of an international student(s) attending Lewis-Clark State College. To be eligible, students must be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given to international students and to those who demonstrate financial need as determined by the International Programs Office. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1. 

Frank and Gladys Hopkins Endowed Scholarship (Athletics)          

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a cumulative GPA consistent with the minimum required for admission and for progress toward his selected major and be participating on the LCSC baseball team. The minimum amount of this award is $1,000. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Rick Crane Group Real Estate Scholarship Fund (Business)

This scholarship was established to offset the educationally related expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College student who intends to pursue or further a career in real estate. To be eligible, students must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business or an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 with strong potential for academic achievement. Recipient must be a student who is serious about becoming a real estate agent or otherwise working in the field of real estate with preference going to students who are gainfully employed. The amount of the award is $100. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Alpha Delta Kappa Annual Scholarship (Education)        

Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary organization for women educators. To be eligible, students must be a senior pursuing a degree in Education, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be accepted into the Teacher Education Program. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Harry Campbell Estate Endowed Scholarship for Education (Education)         

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be accepted into the Teacher Education Program. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

N.I.C.E. Ronald D. Corn Scholarship (Education)         

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be an incoming freshman and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in Education. Applicants may reapply for the scholarship. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Michael and Phillip Duley Memorial Endowed Scholarship (Education)                  

To be eligible for this award, applicants must have a class standing of junior or above, be pursuing a degree in Education, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Kenneth R. and Mildred M. Hensley Scholarship (Education)                  

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be pursuing a degree in Education or preparing for a career in teaching with a major in History or Physical Education, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a cumulative GPA consistent with the minimum required for admission and for progress toward his or her selected major. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Herbert Howe Perpetual Scholarship (Education)                  

The intent of this scholarship is to support aspiring teachers. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 12 upper division Education credits, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. At least two annual awards are available with an amount up to $1,500. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Glen and Babs Carlson Endowed Scholarship (General)       

To be eligible for this award, applicants must have a cumulative GPA consistent with the minimum required for admission and for progress toward his or her major. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Eleanor Perry Memorial Endowed Scholarship (General)          

This scholarship was established by the Lewiston-Clarkston Soroptimist Club to offset the educationally related expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College student. To be eligible, students must be in the final year of their program, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

John AK Barker Endowed Scholarship (Humanities)         

The intent of this scholarship is to assist students who have demonstrated performance in all aspects of theatre. To be eligible, students must have a current standing of sophomore or above, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a cumulative GPA consistent with the minimum required for admission and for progress toward his or her selected major. Preference shall be given to non-traditional students. Minimum award is $250. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Norman Maclean Scholarship (Humanities)                 

To be eligible for this award, applicants must have a current standing of junior or above, be pursuing a degree in English, be classified as at least half-time, enrolled in six or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Preference may be given to full-time students. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

John L. Nydegger Scholarship (Humanities)                  

To be eligible for this award, applicants must have a current standing of sophomore or above, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have taken theatre courses, acquiring a GPA of 3.0 in those courses. Preference will be given to students intending to pursue a career in teacher education and to those involved in backstage and performance work. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Gene magleby natural science endowed scholarship (natural sciences & mathematics)

To be eligible for this award, students must have a class standing of sophomore or junior, be pursuing a degree in either Biology or Chemistry, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, and demonstrate interest in post-graduate education in the health professions, including medical school, dental school, pharmacy school, or physical therapy. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Laura Ann Peck Memorial Endowed Scholarship (Natural Sciences & Mathematics)           

To be eligible for this award, students must be pursuing a degree in Mathematics, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have successfully completed three semesters of calculus. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Betty Mae Alvord Allwine Memorial Scholarship in Nursing (Nursing)           

This scholarship was created to honor Betty Mae’s incredible spirit for life and her dedication to the health industry. To be eligible, students must be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in the Nursing Program. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Carlson-Lewiston Rotary Scholarship (Nursing)                     

To be eligible for this award, applicants must have a current standing of junior or above, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and be in good standing in the Nursing program. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of academic performance, leadership potential, nursing ability and potential, active involvement in a professional nursing association (INSA or INA) and/or Nursing Division and/or community. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Louisa Murphy Nursing Scholarship (Nursing)                     

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in the Nursing Program. Preference shall be given to a second year student who has demonstrated significant commitment to the nursing profession and their studies. The amount of the award is variable and shall not be given to the same student two years in a row. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Avista Scholars Scholarship (Professional-Technical)         

To be eligible for this award, students must be an incoming freshman and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Preference will be given to students pursuing one of the following degrees; Automated Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Heating, Air Conditioning and Appliance Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology or Welding Technology. A minimum of four, one-year scholarships are available. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Hinman-Jensen Endowed Scholarship (Professional-Technical)         

To be eligible for this award, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's of Applied Technology or Applied Science degree, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a cumulative GPA consistent with the minimum required for admission and for progress toward his or her selected major. Preference shall be given to students who have not previously received this scholarship. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The LCSC Welding Club Scholarship (Professional-Technical)         

This scholarship was established by the LCSC Welding Club with the purpose of offsetting the educationally related expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College Welding Technology student. To be eligible, students must have completed at least one semester as a full-time student enrolled in the Welding Technology Program, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Award amount varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The William G. Clouser Social Work Scholarship (Social Science)        

This scholarship was established in honor of William G. Clouser. Dr. Clouser was a faculty member in the Social Work Program for seven years and  currently serves as the Social Work Program Director. To be eligible, students must be entering their senior year, be classified as at least quarter-time, enrolled in nine or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5  in social work courses. Applicants must also submit a personal letter with their application describing why they have chosen a career in social work. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.
