Natural Sciences and Mathematics Scholarships

The 2019-2020 General Scholarship Application will be available December 1, 2018.

Be sure to first read the submission instructions relating to the version of the General Application you are submitting (paper or online). Only one General Application is required per student. If completing the paper version, be sure to include the checklist indicating the scholarships for which you would like to be considered.

General Applications, paper or online, must be submitted by the March 1 deadline.

All scholarships require a General Application, unless otherwise noted in the scholarship description. For scholarships requiring a separate application, it will be listed below the description.

TO BE ELIGIBLE, STUDENTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING BULLETED SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS.

Orval Austin Endowed Scholarship          

The Orval Austin Endowed Scholarship was established by Char Gustafson in memory of Mr. Orval Austin.  Char was a friend of Mr. Austin and knew of his wish to help students through college.

  • At least half-time, enrolled in six or more credits per semester
  • One award will go to student pursuing a degree in Education
  • One award will go to student pursuing a degree in Biology with intent to attend veterinarian school
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office

Dr. william h. bond memorial scholarship

This annual scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. William H. Bond, former physician in Lewiston, Idaho.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Purusing a degree in biology or chemistry
  • Have a class standing of sophomore or junior
  • Must demonstrate interest in post-graduate education in health professions, including medical school, dental school, pharmacy school, or physical therapy.

Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship

The Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship is sponsored each year by the United Steel Workers International Union, Local #712.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in either the Technical and Industrial Division or Mathematics with an interest in Computer science
  • Preference:
    • Students graduating from local high schools
    • Students who are affiliated with a member of the United Steel Workers International Union, Local #712

A separate application is required and must be submitted by May 16.

the dr. william laval endowed scholarship

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Pursuing a degree in Geology or Earth Science

The Gene Magleby Natural Science Endowed Scholarship

  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in either Biology or Chemistry
  • Have a class standing of sophomore or junior
  • Demonstrate interest in post-graduate education in the health professions, including medical school, dental school, pharmacy school, or physical therapy

Lyle and Sharon Parks Scholarship

  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Be a graduate of Kendrick High School in Kendrick, Idaho
  • Preference:
    • Students enrolled in a Professional-Technical Program, Health Sciences, Math, Science or Engineering Program

The Laura Ann Peck Memorial Endowed Scholarship            

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree in Mathematics
  • Have successfully completed three semesters of calculus

SUSAN P. SCHROEDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established by Ned R. Schroeder in memory of his wife, Susan, who devoted her time to education at Lewis-Clark State College.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Pursuing a degree in either Natural Sciences or English
  • Be a graduate of an Idaho high school
  • Have completed at least four upper division credits in Geology and/or English
  • Preference:
    • Students who are graduates from Nez Perce County

ROBERT D. & EVELYN M. URQUHART SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established by Robert and Evelyn Urquhart to foster and encourage excellence in natural science, physical science, and mathematics at Lewis-Clark State College.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a degree within the natural sciences or mathematics

A separate application is required and must be submitted by March 1.
