Natural Sciences & Mathematics Scholarships

For scholarships requiring a General Application, first read the submission instructions relating to the version of application you are submitting (paper or electronic). General Applications, paper or electronic, must be submitted by the March 1 deadline. Only one General Application is required per student, be sure to include the checklist indicating the scholarships for which you would like to be considered.

For all other scholarships, instructions for applying will be noted or a separate application will be provided with the scholarship description.

Orval Austin Endowed Scholarship          

The Orval Austin Endowed Scholarship was established by Char Gustafson in memory of Mr. Orval Austin.  Char was a friend of Mr. Austin and knew of his wish to help students through college. Two scholarships will be available with one going to a student pursuing a degree in Education and the other to a student pursuing a degree in Biology with intent to attend veterinarian school. To be eligible, students must be classified as at least half-time, enrolled in six or more credits per semester. Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1. 

Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship

The Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship is sponsored each year by the United Steel Workers International Union, Local #712. To be eligible, students must be pursuing a degree in either the Technical and Industrial Division or Mathematics with an interest in Computer science, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students graduating from local high schools and who are affiliated with a member of the United Steel Workers International Union, Local #712. This is a non-renewable scholarship. A separate application is required and must be submitted by May 16.

Lyle and Sharon Parks Scholarship

The intent of this scholarship is to recognize an individual who demonstrates involvement in extracurricular, community, leadership, and personal improvement activities. To be eligible, students must be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be a graduate of Kendrick High School in Kendrick, Idaho. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a Professional-Technical or Health Science program. Secondary preference will be given to Math, Science, or Engineering programs. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

The Laura Ann Peck Memorial Endowed Scholarship            

To be eligible for this award, students must be pursuing a degree in Mathematics, be classified as full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have successfully completed three semesters of calculus. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.
