Out-of-State Tuition Scholarships and Waivers

  • Please note that Out-of-State Tuition Scholarships and Waivers are for students seeking their first Bachelor's or Associate's Degree. Students with a Bachelor's Degree are not eligible. 
  • Out-of-state tuition scholarships/waivers are applied to out-of-state tuition and fees and are not intended to cover in-state tuition or fees. 
  • If you are receiving an Athletic Waiver, you may not be eligible for out-of-state scholarship/waiver funding.

Out-of-State Tuition Scholarships*

  • Priority Deadline: March 1 (December 1 for Early Consideration for the 2017-2018 academic year).
  • Students are automatically considered for an out-of-state scholarship by meeting the Priority Deadline.
  • Note: Students are eligible for only one scholarship award (Presidential, WUE or Asotin County).

**ACT is composite score. SAT score is a combination of critical reading and math. RSAT score is a combination of evidence-based reading/writing and math.

Out-of-State Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

This scholarship has been set up to assist out-of-state non-traditional students who have been out of high school for at least five years at the time of their initial enrollment at Lewis-Clark State College.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Be a non-traditional student
  • Preference:
    • Students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office

The amount of the award is $500 and can be renewed.

A separate application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Out-of-State Transfer Scholarship*

This scholarship has been set up to assist out-of-state transfer students who wish to complete their Bachelor’s degree at Lewis-Clark State College.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Full-time, enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  • Must be a new, direct out-of-state transfer to LCSC
  • Must have acquired a minimum of 60 credits
  • Must have a recognized Associate degree from an accredited college other than Lewis-Clark State College
  • Preference:
    • Students who transfer from the following colleges: North Idaho College, Community Colleges of Spokane, College of Southern Idaho, Walla Walla Community College, Treasure Valley Community College and College of Western Idaho

*Effective 2017-2018 academic year.

Students who are or have been concurrently enrolled at LCSC are not eligible.  Students who currently have or have had an approved Consortium Agreement with LCSC are not eligible. High school students graduating with an Associate degree are not eligible. This $1,000 per year award may be renewable a second year based on maintaining a 3.0 GPA and completing at least 12 credits per semester. 

A separate application is required and must be submitted by June 15 for Fall awards and December 15 for Spring awards.

Presidential Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship*

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or a 20 ACT composite or a 950 SAT critical reading and math combined score (RSAT 1030)
  • Must be a new non-resident student
  • Must be at least tentatively admitted by the March 1 Priority Deadline (December 1 for Early Consideration for the 2017-2018 academic year) to receive priority consideration for Fall awards and December 15 for Spring awards (Spring applicants must complete an Out-of-State Scholarship Application found on the Financial Aid Forms page)

This scholarship may be renewed for up to four years of consecutive attendance towards a Bachelor’s degree and up to two years of consecutive attendance towards an Associate’s degree based upon meeting the following requirements: maintaining a 3.0 semester GPA, completing at least 12 credits per semester, and registering for classes during advanced registration each semester. The scholarship amount is established each year and will be equal to the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Waiver amount (recipient pays 150% of Idaho tuition). Out-of-state tuition scholarships/waivers are applied to out-of-state tuition and fees and are not intended to cover in-state tuition or fees. Presidential Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship - Asotin County*

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher or a 20 ACT composite or a 950 SAT critical reading and math combined score (RSAT 1030)
  • Must be a new Asotin County resident student
  • Must be at least tentatively admitted by the March 1 Priority Deadline (December 1 for Early Consideration for the 2017-2018 academic year) to receive priority consideration for Fall awards and December 15 for Spring awards (Spring applicants must complete an Out-of-State Scholarship Application found on the Financial Aid Forms page)

Lewis-Clark State College Senior Scholarship*

This $500 one year scholarship was established to award LCSC seniors who have met increase criteria each year for an In-State Presidential or Provost Scholarship or a Presidential Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA, of 3.0
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
  • Have completed at least 90 credits
  • Applicants must have met the increase criteria each year for the scholarships named above.

A student cannot have had to petition for reinstatement of their scholarship at any time to be eligible for this award. No separate application is required and will be awarded based on meeting the above requirements.

*Effective for new scholarships awarded beginning with the 2013-2014 academic year. First awards will not be made until 2016-2017.

Out-of-state achievement scholarship*

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or a 28 ACT composite or a 1260 SAT critical reading and math combined score (RSAT 1320)
  • Must be a new non-resident student
  • Must have been awarded the WUE or Presidential Out-of-Sate Tuition Scholarship (excludes Asotin County Presidential Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship recipients)

This $2000 scholarship may be renewed for up to four years of consecutive attendance towards a Bachelor's degree and up to two years of consecutive attendance towards an Associate's degree based upon meeting the following requirements: maintaining a 3.0 semester GPA, completing at least 12 credits per semester, and registering for classes during advanced registration each semester. Students must be at least tentatively admitted by the March 1 Priority Deadline (December 1 for Early Consideration for the 2017-2018 academic year) to receive priority consideration for Fall awards and December 15 for Spring awards. Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Waiver

This waiver allows a select number of students to enroll in two and four year degree programs for a reduced amount. The rate is established each year and is 150% of in-state fees. To receive priority consideration you must meet the following:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or a 20 ACT composite/950 SAT critical/verbal and math combined score (RSAT 1030)
  • Be tentatively admitted by the March 1 Priority Deadline (December 1 for Early Consideration for the 2017-2018 academic year)
  • Be a resident from one of the following states or islands: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming

This scholarship may be renewed for up to four years of consecutive attendance towards a Bachelor’s degree and up to two years of consecutive attendance towards an Associate’s degree based upon meeting the following requirements: maintaining a 3.0 semester GPA, completing at least 12 credits per semester, and registering for classes during advanced registration each semester. Community College Out-of-State Transfer Student Scholarship

Students who graduate from a Washington or Oregon Community College may be eligible for additional scholarship funding.  If you have an Associate Degree and a 3.0 or higher grade point average, contact the Financial Aid Office for more details.
