Natural Science Scholarships

Orval Austin Endowed Scholarship
         
Foundation Scholarship

The Orval Austin Endowed Scholarship was established by Char Gustafson in memory of Mr. Orval Austin.  Char was a friend of Mr. Austin and knew of his wish to help students through college.  Two scholarships will be available, one to an Education major, and one going to a Biology major that is planning to attend veterinarian school.  The recipients must be full-time or part-time degree seeking students that demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.  A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship

The Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship is sponsored each year by the United Paperworkers International Union, Local #712.  Students must be enrolled full-time, majoring in either mathematics with interest in computer science or be in a major within the Technical and Industrial Division.  Students must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Preference will be given to students graduating from local high schools and who are affiliated with a member of the United Paperworkers International Union, Local #608/712. This is a non-renewable scholarship.  Deadline for submitting application is May 17.

The Laura Ann Peck Memorial Endowed Scholarship
            Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship has been set up to assist Lewis-Clark State College students that are majoring in mathematics.  To qualify, students must also have successfully completed three semesters of calculus, have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and be registered as a degree-seeking, full-time (12 credits) student.  A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Susan P. Schroeder Memorial Scholarship
         
Foundation Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must be an Idaho high school graduate, with preference given to graduates from Nez Perce County, must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA, the recipient of this scholarship must be majoring in Natural Sciences or English and must have completed at least four upper division credits in Geology and/or English. Whenever possible, the scholarship shall be awarded in alternate award cycles to an English major and a Natural Sciences major. One scholarship is available and the amount is variable. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.
