The Betty Mae
Alvord Allwine Memorial Scholarship in Nursing
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship has been created in memory of
Betty Mae Alvord’s incredible spirit for life and her dedication to
the health industry. To be eligible, students must be seeking a
degree in Nursing, have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and be a full-time
(12 credits) student. A General Application is required and must be
submitted by March 1.

Helen Bisbing Nursing Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Helen Bisbing as
a means to help a student fulfill their dream of becoming a nurse. Her
preferred recipient would be one that takes their life, career and health
seriously. To be eligible for this scholarship a student must 1) be
accepted into the Nursing program, 2) be enrolled for at least 12 credits,
3) have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and 4) must be from the Lewiston-Clarkston area
or a small rural community in Idaho or Washington. Preference will be
given to students who demonstrate financial need as determined by the
Financial Aid Office and students who intend on staying in the Lewis-Clark
Valley. A General Application is required and must be submitted by March
1.

Carlson-Lewiston Rotary Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
To be eligible for this award applicants must be a
junior or senior in good standing within the Nursing program. Applicants
will be evaluated on the basis of academic performance, leadership
potential, nursing ability and potential, active
involvement in a professional nursing association (INSA or INA) and/or
Nursing Division and/or community. Applicants must be classified as a
full-time student, carrying 8 or more credits per semester. Award amount
varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by
March 1.

Carondelet Scholarship
The Carondelet Scholarship is available to full-time
students at LCSC who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have been
accepted into the nursing program. Recipients of this scholarship must
agree to apply for work as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Regional
Medical Center and, if accepted for employment, to work as a registered
nurse for a period of not less than 18 months after receipt of licensure.
A separate application is required and deadlines vary. For more

Laura Moore Cunningham Nursing Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
Applicants for this scholarship must be carrying a
minimum of 6 credits per semester, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
Applicant must be an Idaho resident. Applicants for this scholarship shall
be evaluated on the basis of academic performance, financial need, nursing
ability, professional development, active involvement in a professional
nursing association (INSA, INA, or specialty organization) and/or Nursing
Division, and/or community. Applicants must be nursing students or
radiography technician students. The amount of the scholarship is variable. A General Application
is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Gretchen Dimico Memorial Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must be a full or part
time RN to BSN student at the LCSC Coeur d’Alene Center, be a current
or former member of a professional nursing organization, and must
demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5, the minimum required for
admission and progression in the BSN Program. The amount of the award
varies. A General Application is required and must be submitted by
March 1.

Bus & Mary Ellen Durant Timberline
High School Endowed Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established
by Bus and Mary Ellen Durant to encourage promising students from
Timberline High School, Clearwater County, to continue their
education. There will be two equal awards offered annually;
one for Nursing and one for a program within the Technical and
Industrial Division.
To be eligible, a student must have graduated from Timberline High
School or its successor in Clearwater County, Idaho, and preference
will be given to students enrolled full time at LCSC majoring in
Nursing. Second preference shall be given to students enrolled
full time who are majoring in any other discipline offered at LCSC.
A General Application is required and must be submitted by March 1.

Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship
The Jimmy Guild Memorial Scholarship is sponsored each year by the
United Paperworkers International Union, Local #712. Students
must be enrolled full-time, majoring in either mathematics with
interest in computer science or be in a major within the Technical and
Industrial Division or be majoring in Nursing.
Students must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Preference will be given to students graduating from local high
schools and who are affiliated with a member of the United
Paperworkers International Union, Local #608/712. This is a
non-renewable scholarship. Deadline for submitting application
is May 17.

Louisa Murphy Nursing Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be
enrolled as a full-time student in the Division of Nursing and have a
minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference shall be given to a second year student who
has demonstrated significant commitment to the nursing profession and
their studies. The amount of the award is variable and shall not be given
to the same student two years in a row. A General Application is required
and must be submitted by March 1.

Nursing Student Biennial Scholarship
Foundation
ScholarshipThis scholarship was established to recognize
outstanding nursing students entering their junior year at LCSC.
Students must be a full-time (12 credits or more) student
entering their junior year.
Student must have excellent standing in the BSN program at
LCSC. Student must be
highly motivated to obtain a career in the nursing field as
demonstrated by their letter outlining their career goals.
Recipient must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, and
demonstrate financial need.
A General Application is required and
must be submitted by March 1.

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established for the benefit of students in the
Nursing program. This scholarship will ensure the Nursing student’s
success, and foster a talented population of skilled nurses.
The St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is a volunteer
organization established 50 years ago to provide assistance to
patients, staff, the hospital and the community.
The Auxiliary continues their mission in raising money to help
students meet their higher education goals.
To be eligible students must have at least a 2.8 GPA, be a
full-time student carrying at least 12 credits each semester, must be
accepted into the nursing program, and
demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
Preference will be given to students currently employed at St.
Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Preference should also be considered to those students who
express interest in living and working in the Lewis-Clark Valley upon
graduation. A General

Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established to promote the
education of nurses in the Lewis-Clark Valley. Applicants must be enrolled
in the LCSC nursing program, must demonstrate financial aid as determined
by the Financial Aid Office, and show academic
promise and the ability to succeed in the nursing profession. The amount

The Grace Smith Endowed Scholarship in Nursing
Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Grace Shawen
Smith and Ralph A. Shawen for the purpose of offsetting the
educationally-related expenses of a Lewis-Clark State College student of
nursing. To be eligible, applicants must be a senior level student
in good standing in the Nursing Program and be classified as a full-time
student, carrying 8 or more credits per semester. Candidates for
this scholarship shall be evaluated on the basis of academic performance,

Tri-State Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Undergraduate Scholarship
Each year, two scholarships valued at $1800 are
awarded from the Clay Taylor Embry and Mary Almire Smith Embry Memorial
Scholarship fund. Applicants must be a high school graduate (or
equivalent) who intends to begin a full-time nursing program in the fall
semester. Full-time nursing students entering their second year are also
eligible. Students must have a high school cumulative GPA of 2.5 or a 2.5
college GPA, with a minimum of 2.0 in any subject during the first year of
the nursing program. Recipients will be expected to apply for a position
at Tri-State after graduation and work for at least one year after
licensing as a Registered Nurse. A separate application is required and
must be submitted by June 1. Applications are available mid April and the
