New LCSC Student

Here are the steps for receiving your VA education benefits:

  1. Apply online for degree-seeking admission to LCSC. Go to the admissions page to begin.
  2. File for Federal Financial Aid using the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Go to:www.fafsa.gov to file today. The FAFSA can be filled out every year beginning January 1 and when possible should be submitted before March 1.
  3. Find which application for VA education benefits to complete by determining what Chapter you fall under.
  4. Now that you have determined what Chapter and application to complete:
    1. Launch the VA Online Application System (VONAPP) to apply for benefits. Follow the VONAPP link to begin.
    2. Include with application a copy of your      member four DD-214 or a Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) if you are in the reserves.
  5. Submit a copy of your VA Certificate Of Eligibility (COE) to the LCSC Veterans Coordinator. This is a letter you received from the VA that shows you are eligible for VA education benefits. You will typically receive your COE two weeks after applying through the VONAPP system.
  6. Send your official military transcripts to LCSC.
  7. How to get advance pay
  8. Once you have been accepted to LCSC, contact the Career and Advising Services at 208-792-2313 to register for classes. 
  9. Once you have registered for classes contact the Veterans Coordinator.
  10. Post 9/11 (CH 33) recipients must fill out and submit the Enrollment Certification Form to the LCSC Veterans Coordinator when finished registering for classes.
  11. Read the Guide to using your G. I. Bill.
  12. Check your LCMail often for updates.
