The college keeps growing and the Business Division is no exception. Lewis-Clark State College grew by 12% over the past two years, setting a new school enrollment record of 4,542 students. The Business Division realized over 700 majors and has more than doubled in student enrollment in just the past eight years. In fact, during the same time period, the Division has increased the number of student credit hours taught by 174%. This growth is primarily due to the outstanding faculty and staff at LCSC and their student-centered approach to everything they do.

The Business Division is also a leader in online business education producing more online business classes than any other Idaho four-year college or university. Lewis-Clark State College’s recent regional accreditation visit by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) recognized the Business Division for having dedicated faculty who embrace distance learning. They also singled out our online Management degree as an example of a program that serves our region well. The NWCCU praised the entire college and lauded LCSC for its visionary and dynamic leadership, along with a faculty and staff who genuinely care about students and student success.

With the large increase in enrollment in its programs, to say simply that “the Business Division needs a new home” dramatically understates the case.

Unlike programs of comparable size (Education and Nursing), the Business Division has no dedicated classroom space on campus. Projected estimates indicate continued and rapid growth for the next several years.

The Idaho Permanent Building Fund supports this $1.9 million dollar renovation with funding in the amount of $1.7 million dollars. The balance of the funding will come from private support.
