  1. Funding Searches
    1. Grants Advisor Plus – Governmental and some foundations/corporate sponsors
    2. Foundation Center Online: In the office – 60,000 foundations/corporate sponsors
    3. Associates Program: We look; can’t find; email/phone call and ask.  Twenty-four hour service
    4. Grants Office Database: Will email opportunities – filtered out unrealistic sponsors and narrowed down the most likely opportunities.  Email will be sent twice a year.
    5. My mantra: “The problem isn’t finding a funder.  It’s finding enough folks who want to write a grant.”

    1. Individual Assistance (as much as you want)
    2. Professional Development Program: Grant writing Course
    3. Web site: www.lcsc.edu/grants resource for first time grant writers
    4. Alumni Rate if you wish to attend The Grantsmanship Center Inc. Grant writing course – 5 days intensive instruction.  Must be prepared to write grants if you attend - $800 class (we pay half for one attendee).
    5. Boiler Plate: Application Information, history of LCSC, student demographics, Math, Science, Native American, Nursing, topics
    6. Tutor at your elbow as you register as an Authorized Organizational Representative with Grants.gov
    7. Consultation regarding federal government legislation governing grants
    8. Systematizing your grant writing efforts – stay organized – keep files
       
  1. Paid Grant writers
    1. Experience teaches us that if you can’t write the grant then you can’t administer it.
    2. Grants office pays grant writer, but the PI will have substantial involvement in the grant writing process.   
       
  1. Meet Program Managers, Foundation/Corporate Lenders
    1. Limited basis with some firm requirements
    2. Must have:
         i.     Fully developed idea
         ii.    Enthusiastic endorsement from Dena, Tony Division Chair
         iii.    Realistic and aligned with LCSC mission
         iv.    Pay for ˝ trip costs (meals, lodging, transportation)
         v.    Excellent ROI: Full Indirect Cost Recovery
