Grant Incentive Program

Grant Incentive Guidelines

In order to generate additional grant applications and support the development of new and innovative ideas and programs, the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) will award the following as incentives to grant developers. For the purpose of this incentive program, a grant is defined as non-repayable funds or products to support a specific project.  Incentive awards are limited to one per grant application.PI/PD should review incentive options with his/her supervisor to determine which incentives apply.

  • Faculty Principal Investigators (PI)/Program Directors (PD) receive incentives (may be split with Co-PI/PDs).
  • To qualify, application proposals must be approved through the LCSC Grant Application Approval Request Procedure (GAARP) prior to submission.
  • The PI/PD must be significantly involved in grant research, writing, submission, and administration. PI/PDs who oversee funds that are automatically awarded to LCSC by virtue of its standing as an institution of higher education, or those that are part of a sub-award from another institution, do not qualify.
  • For purposes of the Grant Incentive Program, course release is limited to one per term. Allowing additional course release time in support of the grant is the prerogative of the division.
  • Grant applications must not be solely for unit operating expenses.
  • Grant incentive requests must receive approval from the appropriate Division Chair or Department Director, Dean, Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and/or Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice President for Finance and Administration, and Director of Grants and Contracts.
