ABOUT THE 2006 PROGRAM

The Training along the Trail Project represents a collaborative effort among educators, business people, agency representatives, and economic development and tourism-related groups to meet the needs of preparing our front-line employees and visitor center volunteers in preparing the region for the 2006 Bicentennial.

These needs include:

  • Provide as many front-line employees as possible with basic regional information about Corp of Discovery and basic hospitality training by providing 1,650 hours of training to 550 people from January to May 2006.
  • Create a DVD to be used by supervisors, after initial training, to provide ongoing sustainable Lewis and Clark training program in conjunction with North Central Idaho Travel Association (NCITA).
  • Provide access to Corp of Discovery and hospitality training materials in variety of formats.  This will include a DVD that can be used for on-going training.
  • Ensure all materials are accurate, easy to use and understand and widely accessible
