All full-time staff and faculty are eligible to participate in the State of Idaho benefit program on the first day of the month following their date of hire. Please refer to the Premium Rate Schedule for details on employee benefit costs.

Blue Cross of Idaho is LCSC's group health administrator. Employees have a choice between Traditional, PPO, and High Deductible health plans. The employee's monthly contribution is listed in the premiums chart above.
Elections must be made within 30 days of employment. You can add/drop dependents at anytime.
When an employee enrolls in a medical plan they are required to enroll for at least self-only dental coverage.
Blue Cross of Idaho contracts with Vision Service Plan (VSP) to provide the vision benefit included in each active employee medical plan.
Prescription drug coverage is included in your medical plan.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) offer a convenient and easy way to save money for eligible medical and day care expenses. You can set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for your qualified expenses.
An Employee Assistance Program, or EAP, provides confidential, short-term counseling services for benefit eligible employees and their dependents to help them handle concerns constructively, before they become major issues.
As a benefit eligible employee, LCSC provides your Basic Life coverage. You then have the option to purchase additional Voluntary Term Life (VTL) coverage.
Disability coverage is included in the Basic Life policy, no special enrollment is required.
After your eligibility for group insurance coverage ends, you may be able to purchase continued medical and dental, on an individual basis, for a period of time.
Professional Staff & Faculty have the option of choosing between two ORP retirement plans. The employee contributes 6.97% and this is matched at 9.3%. Employees are vested immediately.
Classified Staff have one retirement plan to choose from. The employee contributes 6.79% and this is matched at 11.32%. Employees are vested after 5 years of credited state service.
Supplemental Retirement Accounts
A federal law which entitles eligible employees to unpaid, job protected leave, under qualifying circumstances.
LCSC has 10 paid holidays per year including: New Year's Day, Idaho Human Right's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Eligible employees and spouses may take courses offered by any Idaho 2 or 4-year public institution for a $20 registration fee and $5 per credit. Contact the other institutions for more information.
Eligible dependents can receive a 50% reduction in current resident and nonresident LCSC tuition and fees. No other fees are waived by this benefit. Any applicable course, lab, and other fees will apply. Only one dependent fee waiver for one child will be allowed per semester per family.
Note: Each semester this benefit extends to the employee and spouse OR the employee and one dependent.
Admission is granted without charge for all faculty and staff who have an active employee identification card. All users are required to complete a Fitness Center Waiver Form, which can be found on Warrior Web as well as at the Fitness Center, prior to using the facility.
Employees receive a 10% discount on items purchased at the bookstore (some limitations may apply).
The State of Idaho is making Aflac's insurance policies available to you. Aflac pays cash benefits directly to you (unless assigned), when you're sick or injured. You can use the cash to help cover expenses that major medical does not - like mortgage, groceries, or whatever you need. It's like a safety net for you and your family.
The Idaho College Savings Program (IDeal) is a state sponsored program to help families save for higher education expenses. The money saved can be used at any accredited school in Idaho, public or private, or anywhere in the United States.
Lewis-Clark State College has a contract with Microsoft that gives LCSC employees the right to use software for work-related purposes at home. You are not licensed to use the software at home for personal purposes. Work At Home (WAH) rights have been established for the following products: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Vision, Microsoft Project, Visual Studio Pro, Microsoft Expressions Studio Web, Windows 7 operating system upgrade. Note: Office is available for Mac or PC, while all other software is only for the PC. Please complete the Work At Home Agreement and bring to HRS to receive the software. Software should be returned within 3 business days.
Provides life saving transport to seriously ill or injured patients from the scene of an emergency or from one hospital to another.
