A basement, a monster and seven little known darkly funny adult fairytales is at the center of LCSC’s theatre production of The Secret in the Wings by Mary Zimmerman April 18-21 in the Silverthorne Theatre In LCSC’s Administration Building. All performances are at 7:30pm.
Directed by LCSC Theatre Instructor, Jef Petersen in collaboration with students from his directing class, the play begins with a child and the frightening babysitter with whom her parents leave her. As the babysitter reads from a book, the characters in each of the tales materialize. This production uses costumes, props, sets, and lighting in a way that capture the imagination, creating images and feelings that highlight the elemental and enduring power of these fairy tales.
Tickets will sold at the door: General Public-$10.00, Veterans, Alumni, Faculty and Non-LCSC students-$5.00. LCSC students- Free with LCSC ID. Some of these tales have mature themes and may not be suitable for young children. For more information: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please join us on Tuesday, April 24 from 2:00-4:00pm in the Silverthorne Theatre in LCSC’s Administration Building for a staged reading of the one-act play Isadora del Sol by Eliana Pipes. Following the short play, Marcela Carrillo Pattinson from WSU’s Crimson Group will lead a discussion on campus-related immigration issues.
