Qualifications: Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in
Computer Science or related field is required. Teaching
experience is preferred.

Modeling, Human Computer Interaction, Business and Information

Position Responsibilities: This positions
reports directly to the Chair of the Division of Natural Sciences
and Mathematics. The instructor is responsible for teaching an
average of 24 credits per academic year in the Natural Sciences and
Mathematics Division, student advising, and service as well as other
duties as assigned by the division chair.

Teaching: a) Instruction:
Teach courses in computer science, courses in the area of
specialization, and courses in related fields. Teaching
includes course design, delivery, and student assessment and
grading. b) Curriculum Development: Assess,
improve, and develop courses as needed. c) Advising:
Advise students and perform tasks related to student recruitment
and retention.

Scholarly Activity and Professional
Development: a) Scholarly activities: Perform
scholarly activities such as research and/or direction of
undergraduate research. b) Professional Development:
Keep up to date with knowledge advancement in the field, as well
as educational methods and techniques.

Service: Perform service duties for a)
the college, b) the division, and c) the community. Devise
and perform tasks with the objective of successful
implementation and growth of the computer science programs, and
the goal of sustainable growth of the division, the college, the
profession, and the community. Examples of tasks in this
category are: assess and improve computer science
programs, participate in college-wise and/or division-wise
committees, perform peer evaluations, and participate in
professional and/or service organizations.

The Area: LCSC is located in Lewiston,

to major cities, such as Boise, Portland, and Seattle.
Lewiston is also less than an hour's drive from the cities of
Moscow, Idaho and Pullman, Washington, homes to The University of
Idaho and Washington State University respectively. The area
offers unmatched outdoor recreational opportunities for all seasons
such as: skiing, rafting and water sports, camping, hiking,
golfing, fishing, and hunting, as well as miles of groomed running
and bike trails conveniently close to campus. Several million
acres of state and federal parks, forests, and recreational areas
are within less than a day of driving distance, such as: The
Idaho Panhandle National Historic Park; and The Wallowa Lake
Oregon State Park.
Computer Science: Computer Science at LCSC
is a relatively new and growing program in the Division of Natural
Sciences and Mathematics. It is a highly collaborative and
interdisciplinary program that has developed strong ties with other
programs in the division and with other academic and technical
divisions within the college. The Computer Science program
currently offers four different emphasis areas: Computer
Science and Mathematics, Business Information Systems, Information
Technology, and Web-Development. Addition of new emphasis
areas will be considered.
