Community Outreach
Lewis-Clark State College Encourages international students to get involved in the Lewiston community!
International students who receive a scholarship from the International programs Office are required to contribute hours
of community service to Lewiston or Clarkston in order to maintain their scholarship.
Our Community Outreach Coordinator helps students organize their volunteer hours!
The International Programs Office offers several outreach programs
for students and community members including:
Community Involvement: Our international students volunteer their time to educate the
local community about their culture and country. If you are interested in requesting an
international student to volunteer their time
for this purpose please contact our Community Outreach Coordinator.
Conversation Partners: Our IIE program provides a conversation class to our ESL students.
To supply this service we need English speaking volunteers for 6 weeks of our 8 week terms for one hour a week.
This time allows a great opportunity to meet and know our international students.
If you are interested please contact our Community Outreach Coordinator.
Homestay Host: The LCSC International homestay program is a vital part of our program.
Our host families offer a safe and secure living and learning environment and open their homes
and families to also learn about their student’s cultures, interest and/or religion.
Students pay a set monthly fee to host families and in turn a host family home must provide:
- A private bedroom
- Private or shared bathroom
- Access to kitchen
- Transportation
- Arrival pickup from airport
- Pick up/drop off students to and from class if home is over 1 mile from school
If you are interested in becoming a host family please fill out the Homestay Host
