Institutional
Policy on Research with Humans Subjects

The federal
government has established ethical
principles of respect for persons
and published guidelines for
colleges and universities. LCSC
must insure autonomy, beneficence,
and justice for all persons asked to
participate in research. This is
accomplished through the
implementation of a collegial review
procedure for all research
associated with the College. The
review shall be conducted by
volunteer members of the
Institutional Review Board for Human
Subjects Research (IRB) appointed by
the Provost.
Please
submit an original hard copy with
signatures to the Social Sciences
Office. Attach a copy in an
email Teri Rust, IRB Chair. The IRB chair will
classify the proposal as:
1) EXEMPT status: requires only one
other reviewer;
2) EXPEDITED status: requires only
two other reviewers;
3) FULL REVIEW: requires full board
review.
