The Region II, Idaho Small Business
Development Center (SBDC) and the Business Division at Lewis-Clark
State College offer SBDC business clients the opportunity to
participate in student projects.
STUDENT PROJECTS – a win-win for
our clients and for our future entrepreneurs.
Each semester, the Region II SBDC, the LCSC Business Division
faculty and business students develop between 15 and 20 projects in
the following areas: Human Resources, Management (SWOT), Accounting,
and Marketing
Business Division Associate Professor Debbie Goodwin, who has
corporate experience in Human Resources management, works with her
Human Resource Management students to conduct studies into various
phases of marketing and human resource management, such as the
development of employee handbooks and job descriptions.
Jill Thomas-Jorgenson and Jenny Scott from the Business Division, work with Marketing
students to develop marketing plans, marketing materials and
promotion plans.
Delta Heath-Simpson, Associate Professor for the Business Division,
and her Accounting students will be conducting studies in various
phases of Accounting and Record Keeping including issues involving
payroll, inventory counting, and financial analysis.
There is no cost attached to any of the student projects. Business
owners meet with the team of students to familiarize them with their
businesses and the areas they wish to see addressed. Research is
done and recommendations are made. The students learn and the
businesses benefit by having specialized projects developed for
them.
