Short Bio:
I received my Ph.D. in Political Science at Washington State University
in 2004.
After teaching for 2 years at Soka University in Orange
County, California, and then 1 year at Gonzaga University in
Spokane, Washington, I found my home at Lewis-Clark State College in
2006. I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Social
Science Division, Political Science Emphasis.
I love the Northwest, especially the inland area and all
it has to offer.
I have three great kids: my son Phil who is
attending a fine arts college in Washington, DC, along with his
sweetheart Heather who works for the GAO; my son AJ who loves animae
and has a propensity for industrial techno; and my daughter,
Danielle, who's eye for style and decor influence friends and
family and who is developing graphic art and web design skills.
I was a returning student at the age of 29, never
having received a high school diploma (although I did achieve a GED).
When I looked at the world around me, I saw that I wanted to
influence less violent reactions to conflict and more equity among
people. I chose political science from the start, and it has
"rocked my world" (as friends say) ever since.
I love returning students in the courses I teach as they offer a
diverse view of the world and have unique life experiences that
influence discussions.
Young people keep me thinking and on my
toes, often bringing in new ideas and new thoughts, and influence my
use of technology. Young people are our future and bring so
much life and energy into the classroom.
