The
Basics |
Where is the Library?
The Library Building is
located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Fifth Street, near
Meriwether Lewis Hall, see the
LCSC Campus Map.
The Library Building is a large brick building with a decorative
triangular concrete and glass peak over the entry. As you enter the
Library Building, you will see double doors to the right that lead into
the Library. Please visit our
Virtual Tour.
|
Who can use the LCSC Library?
The
LCSC Library welcomes members of the public, as well as the students,
staff and faculty of Lewis-Clark State College. As an academic
library, we offer many services to students, faculty, and staff
exclusively. Some of these services include OCLC Interlibrary
Loans, Internet access for research purposes, and training on a variety
of resources. Services to the general public include access to government documents and access to the
general collection.
|
When is the Library
open?
Library hours vary during the year. Please see the
Library Hours
for current hours, or call 208-792-2396.
|
Where can I park near the Library?
The
Fifth Street entrance to the college leads you to the most convenient
parking near the Library. As you enter the parking lot from Eighth
Avenue, the Library Building is the first building on the left. If
you are a student, parking permits may be purchased in the
Administration Building at the Cashier's window. If you are a
community member, you may park on the street around the building.

I am
doing genealogical research, but can't come to the Library. Will
you print out some pages from the Lewiston Morning Tribune and
send them to me?
The Library has access to the online
edition of the Lewiston Morning Tribune. Their online archive has
articles going back to 1989. You may access this online archive by
coming to
the Library. If you have a paper subscription to the Lewiston
Morning Tribune, you may call them at 208-743-9411 to set up your own
online subscription (at no additional cost).
For articles from 1893 to the present, you may come to the Library and use the
Lewiston Morning Tribune in microfilm format. The charge
for printing from the microfilm reader/printers is 10 cents per page.
The machine takes dimes, only.

|
Inside the Library |
Is there a place to study?
Both
floors of the Library have large study tables, small study carrels, and private
group study rooms. The second floor is designated as a quiet study area, and
there are many individual study carrels available for students. The group study rooms
are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. These rooms are ideal if a
group needs to work on a project together.
|
Where
are the photocopiers? How much does it cost to make a copy?
There
are three photocopiers in the library. Two are located on the first floor near
the library's catalog computers. One is located on the second floor near the
stairs. All of the photocopiers charge ten cents per page.
|
Can I print copies from
the microfilm machines?
Yes.
The machines take dimes only. Dimes may be purchased at the circulation
desk. For help with printing, please ask at the Circulation Desk or
at the Reference Desk.

chairs and vending machines that offer hot and cold beverages and

|
Where are the restrooms?
As
you enter the Library Building, the restrooms are located down the
hallway to the left. Inside
the Library there are restrooms located on the second floor near the
stairs.

The public pay phone is located in the hallway, next to the Student
Lounge. There is an additional phone located outside the Library
Building near the parking lot. An on-campus phone is also
available in the Student Lounge.

and announcements may be posted there. For a list of on-campus
