Electronic Lexicons for Libraries By: Timothy S. Hillebrand, Ph.D. Words are power. With the power of computers, information is more readily available than ever before. But, to be useful, information must be accessible. Regrettably, a survey of both public and academic library sites reveals that lexicons are often buried so deeply that you need to be an archaeologist to excavate them. This presentation will explore developments in electronic lexicons and some logical and practical choices for libraries with a treat for everyone at the end. And in the end, the one with the most words wins. Washington Room |
