SocINDEX with Full Text - contains full text for 253 "core" coverage sociology journals dating back to 1895, and 72 "priority" coverage journals. This database also includes full text for 547 books and monographs, and full text for 6,711 conference papers.
InfoTrac Diversity Studies - A subset of Academic OneFile, this database provides full-text articles related to women, homosexuals, and ethnic minorities.
InfoTrac GLBT Life and Issues - A subset of Academic OneFile, this database provides full-text articles related to gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered individuals.
General Databases: Academic OneFile - a general journal index covering many disciplines, not just Social Work. Contains full-text of some articles.
Custom Newspapers - Collection of full-text newspapers from around the United States and the world.
ProQuest Newstand - Includes coverage of 44 newspapers including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post, plus other important U.S., international and minority interest papers.
Google News Archive - News archive search provides an easy way to search and explore historical archives. In addition to helping you search, News archive search can automatically create timelines which show selected results from relevant time periods. Many of these articles may be purchased individually from the provider. Remember to check the LCSC Journal List first to see if the article is available to you free-of-charge via the Library!
Psychology: PsycINFO - Contains more than 1.8 million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations and technical reports, all in the field of psychology. Journal coverage, which dates back to the 1800s, includes international material selected from more than 1,700 periodicals in over 30 languages. You will get the best results if your search uses the database's subject terms!
InfoTrac Psychology Collection - A subset of Academic OneFile, this database provides full-text articles related to psychology.
ERIC - Contains citations and abstracts for over 750 educational journals and related documents from the Education Resource Information Center. May be useful for child-related topics. The LCSC Library has the ERIC Documents on microfiche, going back to Document #247370. You will get the best results if your search uses the database's subject terms!
Criminal Justice: InfoTrac Criminal Justice - A subset of Academic OneFile, this database provides full-text articles related to criminal justice.
LegalTrac - Provides indexing for more than 1,400 titles including major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals. Contains law-related articles from over 1,000 additional business and general interest titles.
Health: CINAHL - (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature). Provides citations to over 1600 nursing and allied health journals, dating back to 1982.
Health Reference Center Academic (A Thomson Gale database) - Provides articles from 750 sources, plus citations from an additional 2200 journals in medicine, health, nursing and allied health areas.

Health & Wellness Resource Center (A Thomson Gale database) - General, less academic health information than found in Health Reference Center Academic. It includes full-text of articles, newletters, and pamphlets, as well as reference works, such as The Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine, and short videos.
PubMed - Covers the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. Provides access to 9 million citations in MEDLINE and Pre-MEDLINE (with links to participating on-line journals), and other related databases. Provided by the National Library of Medicine, part of the Federal Government's National Institutes of Health.

Covers the social work profession, case management, psychotherapy, community development, family & couples therapy, group therapy, addictions, aging & the aged, child & family welfare, criminal justice & violence, disabilities, mental retardation, civil & legal rights, public welfare, rural & urban issues, social policy & legislation. Provides abstracts (summaries) of the articles.
Women's Studies Abstracts - a Paper Index in the LCSC Library, 1983-Present. Covers women studies, psychology of women, sex roles, sexuality, family, society, violence against women, religion, philosophy & ethics, sports & physical capabilities, family planning, pregnancy, abortion, performing arts, interpersonal relations, prejudice & sex discrimination, women's liberation movement, biography. Provides abstracts of publications.
Criminal Justice Abstracts - a Paper Index in the LCSC Library, 1976-Present. Covers offenders & victims, juvenile justice & delinquency, police, courts & the legal process, adult corrections, crime prevention & control strategies. Provides abstracts of current books, journal articles, and reports.


LCSC Library Catalog - provides information about the materials owned by the LCSC Library and other North Idaho Academic Libraries, including North Idaho College and the University of Idaho. Also has a link to WIN Libraries, so you can search Gonzaga, Whitworth, and VALNet Libraries.
WorldCat - A catalog of items held at libraries throughout the world. Many of these materials can be borrowed through inter-library loan.
Google Books - Info from their Website: "Just do a search on Google Book Search or on Google.com. When we find a book whose content contains a match for your search terms, we'll link to it in your search results. Click a book title and you'll see, like a card catalog entry, some basic information about the book. You may also see a few snippets of text from the book showing your search term in context. Click on the "About This Book" link and look for a link called "Find This Book in a Library" to locate the nearest library holdings.

Child Care & Early Education Research Connections - a multidisciplinary database of over 10,000 resources, including journal articles, reports, and datasets from research projects. Maintained by the National Center for Children in Poverty at Columbia University, the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research, and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
Westlaw - Online legal research service provides quick, easy access to West's vast collection of statutes, case law materials, public records and other legal resources, as well as current news articles and business information.
Thomas - An easy-to-search source for legislative information, provided by the Library of Congress.
USA.gov - A search engine for government Web pages, with an emphasis on the Executive Branch of the Federal Government.
GPO Access - Searchable database of Web pages, with an emphasis on the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government. Provided by the Government Printing Office.
I-Docs - An online collection of paper and digital resources selectively chosen from published Idaho Government Documents.
