TOPIC –         Finding books for research

GOALS –        Introduce students to the online catalog.

This is an introductory tutorial to the features of the online catalog.  Students will get more information about advanced search features in a Level Two module.

OBJECTIVES --  After performing the module’s activity, students will be able to:

• Open the catalog from the Library Home Page

• Perform simple keyword searches on the catalog

• Use simple methods to narrow a search

• Understand the information provided by the catalog citations

• Begin evaluating the usefulness of the search results
