Passwords

At this point, you may be asked for a password.

We use the Internet to access these materials, but they are not available for free with search engines.  Having access to these databases is like buying subscriptions to thousands of magazines and journals.

They are part of the Internet known as The Deep Web or The Invisible Web, because to get to the articles, you need a password that the search engines don't have.

If you access these databases from campus, you won't need a password because the company's computer will see that you are using a computer on the LCSC campus.

If you use the Internet from home to get to these databases, you will need your password, so the computers at Gale (or any other company we buy from) will know that you are authorized to use the databases we buy for you.  (The computer will give you instructions about your login and password or you can contact the Reference Librarian to get help with the login and password.)
