LCSC Library

Information Literacy Institute

Welcome to
Information Literacy Module 1D:

Finding Journal Articles

In this module, we will introduce you to the databases where you can find journal articles and citations.  We will also explain how to find articles in the LCSC Library if you have only a citation for an article.

If you need help in understanding any of the information in this module, the Reference Librarians would be glad to give you some individual instruction!

Here are this Module's complete goals and objectives.

ACTIVITIES:

  1. Learn about The Deep Web (or the Invisible Web).  Watch this tutorial.  (Allow approximately 5 minutes.)

  2. Many instructors prefer that students get most of their information from peer-reviewed publications.  Do you know what those are?  Read some more information here! (Allow approximately 5 minutes.)

  3. Work through an online Finding Journal Articles Tutorial.   (Allow approximately 20 minutes.)

  4. Test your knowledge on finding journal articles in our databases.

The quiz is available in the Assessments section of some online courses on Blackboard.  Login to your online course, and look for the Assessment for Module 1D (Finding Articles).

For more detailed instructions on logging in to take the quiz, read this Handout.

Still have trouble logging in?  Please email us at ili@lcsc.edu.
