Children in the Library
The LCSC Library is an academic library that strives to provide an atmosphere conducive to study and research for the students, faculty and staff at the college. All LCSC library patrons are subject to the LCSC Code of Conduct. Children are welcome in the library under the following guidelines.
- Children under 14 years of age are welcome in the library when accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Library employees are unable to monitor children in the facility. Individuals with disruptive children will be asked to leave the library.
- Children under 14 years of age who would like to access government documents online should ask for assistance from a librarian.
- High school age students (ages 14 - 17) may use the library and its resources without being accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Children 14 - 17 are eligible for LCSC library cards with a valid student ID and a parent's signature. Individuals must present an LCSC library card for Internet access. Use of library computers is available up to 30 minutes per day for this patron group. All patrons using library computers are subject to college and state rules governing appropriate use of technology.
