To learn how to place a
Patron-Initiated Hold while in the catalog, call the Reference Desk (x 2236, email
refdesk@lcsc.edu).
- To identify books on your subject outside the
Washington-Idaho Network, you may search
WorldCat database. WorldCat is a shared catalog of library
holdings. It searches more than 50 million records in the
holdings of participating member libraries across North America and
around the world.
Please note that the library with the item you request may charge
to loan it, and you will be responsible for any charges. We
always try to borrow from libraries that don't charge, but depending
on the uniqueness of the item, that may not be an option. On the
Form for
Requesting Materials, you may stipulate whether you will pay
charges, should that be required, and how much you are willing to pay.
-
You may also identify
journal articles by searching our
online journal
databases. To learn more about searching our databases,
you can refer to our
online tutorial, call the Reference Desk for assistance (x2236) or
email refdesk@lcsc.edu.

If the article you would like to read is not
available online or in print at the LCSC Library, you may order a
copy from another library. As with the books, the library with
the article you request may charge to send a copy, and you will be
responsible for any charges. We always try to order from
libraries that don't charge, but depending on the uniqueness of the
item, that may not be an option. On the
Form for
Requesting Materials, you may stipulate whether you will pay
charges, should that be required, and how much you are willing to pay.
-
Once you have identified an item or items to borrow, fill out the
Form for
Requesting Materials. Please complete the form for each item
you would like us to order. We will email you when each item
arrives at the Library and is ready to be picked up. If you
would like to have a student pick up your materials for you, please
notify the Circulation Desk (email
alschacher@lcsc.edu) with the student's name and the length of
time (a month, a semester, all year, etc.) they will work for you.
