Meet The Tutors

Aaron

 Aaron

Hey everyone! I am majoring in Secondary education, with a concentration in mathematics. One day I hope to be a high school math teacher. Before transferring to Lewis-Clark State College, I attended school in my hometown, Nampa, ID. I went to the College of Western Idaho and received my Associates degree in Liberal Arts, graduating Magna Cum Laude. When I’m not tutoring, I love doing origami, telling corny jokes, and making terrible puns!

 Amber

Hello, my name is Amber, and I am from the small town of Stites, Idaho. By small town, I mean tiny – it contains less than 300 people! At LCSC, I’m majoring in chemistry with a minor in biology. Currently, I am a pharmacy technician-in-training and would like a career in the pharmacy field. I love swimming and I also enjoy learning, writing, drawing, and reading.

I serve on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity. They built me a house in 2006. I stay involved to try and give other families the same stability offered to me.

Tutor Chase

Chase

Hello there! My name is Chase and I’m majoring in mathematics, with a minor in theater. I was born in Coeur d’Alene and grew up in Nampa, but went to high school in Lewiston, Idaho. When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy limnoecology, collecting old cameras, actuarial science, and fishing. At eleven years old I was a prodigy fly tyer and even taught classes to others. In 2016, I won a Certificate of Merit for Best Director at the LCSC Humanifest. One day I hope to become a playwright.

 Chelsea

 Chelsea

I’m Chelsea and I am from Gabon (Central/West Africa). I lived in the capital where there are gorgeous views because it’s located right next to the ocean. I am majoring in Computer Science with a minor in math. After school, I’d like to become a software engineer. For now, I’m a proud chocolate addict that enjoys anime, fitness, art, FOOD, technology, and science. I may not be 1/1000 as smart as Einstein, but I will always do my best to help you.

Tutor Damien

Damien

Welcome! My name is Damien and I am majoring in chemistry. I grew up in northern Texas but eventually moved to Orofino, Idaho and attended Orofino High School. Go Maniacs! When I’m not tutoring in the lab, I work as a crew leader for the Boehls Cabin CPTPA Wildland Fire Crew during the summer months. I recently received an HERC grant to fund research regarding air quality in the LC valley; along with math and science, research is another one of my passions.

John

Hello, I’m John and I’m from good old Lewiston. I would like to pursue something in robotics in the future, so I am majoring in computer science and minoring in math. I have a lot of interests: Japanese, history, reading, games, and traveling. I have a pretty good memory, so when I have a new interest, I can learn about it quickly.

 Karl

Karl

Hey, I’m Karl, and I’m from Twin Falls, Idaho, home of the tallest bridge you can legally base jump in the US. Fun facts: I was born in Germany and I’ve also lived in Brazil. I’m currently majoring in Computer Science, with a minor in Math, and hope to become a software engineer for Delta Airlines. I run cross country, here, at LC, but I enjoy reading and rock climbing, as well.

 Kyuree

 Lynn

Hey everyone, I’m Kyuree, but you can just call me Lynn! I’m from South Korea (not North!) and I’m here in Lewiston studying chemistry. I’d like to go to graduate school or hopefully dental school. My interests include playing piano, singing (I can do both at the same time!), and squirrels. I love squirrels and believe they’re the most amazing creatures I’ve ever seen!

Tutor Madeleine H

Madeleine

Hi everybody, I’m Madeleine! I’m currently undecided on my minor, but I am double majoring in psychology and criminal justice. My dream job would in the field of forensic psychology. My hometown is Leonard, North Dakota, where there are more cows than people. My pet leopard gecko lives with my family there. When I’m not tutoring you’ll probably find me napping, watching Grey’s Anatomy, or eating lasagna.

Fallback Lc

Phyllis

Hello, I’m Phyllis, but you can call me Mother Fikar. I am from Washington, but I’ve traveled the world and would love to see more! I am currently retired, but I was a community college math teacher. When I was in school, I majored in Applied Mathematics and Chemical Engineering.

Rachel

Rachel

Hi, I’m Rachel. I came to LCSC from southern Idaho to get my nursing degree. After school, I’d like to pursue a career as a traveling nurse. When I’m not at school, I love to read and draw. I can also play a few instruments: bass clarinet, cello, and some piano.

Tutor Rebecca

Rebecca

Hello, I’m Rebecca! Call me Rebecca or Becca, it doesn’t matter to me. My major is elementary education with a literacy minor. In the future, I would like to teach either first or second grade in the Sandpoint school district, following in the footsteps of my mom. I was the valedictorian of my graduating high school class and not only maintained a position in an honor society then, but two others throughout my college career. Before I transferred to LCSC, I won the 2016 5A Girls Team Championship in high school and even bowled at the collegiate level for Weber State University. When I’m not tutoring, I really enjoy spending time with my family. We have ten pet rabbits (even though I’ve always wanted a dog) and often do things together outdoors.

 Sera

Sera

Hey there, my name’s Sera! I am from Clarkston, but I’ve traveled all over – my favorite place being Germany. I’m majoring in biology and am working toward a future career in optometry. I love science, but I also enjoy working on cars, quilting, baking, painting, and my dog!

 Sierra

Sierra

Hey there! My name is Sierra and I’m from the LC Valley. I grew up in Asotin and had a graduating class of 45. Now I’m here studying elementary education with a minor in middle school math. In the future, I’d like to be teaching somewhere in K-8 because I love kids. I also like to sing (all the time), travel, cheer, and dance!

Sophie

Hey, I’m Sophie! I am from Meridian, Idaho and am here at LC to get a degree in elementary education. I’d like to teach and would someday like to move to Colorado to teach. I love sports and I am a tennis player here; interestingly, so were my dad and my sister. Other activities I enjoy are outdoor things like hiking, running, and walking my dog. I love my basset hound more than anything!

Taylor

Hey, I'm Taylor! I'm majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computer Science. I don't know what I'd like to do with any of that, but I'll figure it out eventually. I love spending time at home with my husband and daughter; they're my favorite people to relax with. My favorite place to visit is the Oregon Coast and I'd like to live there someday.

Yuka

Hi, I’m Yuka and I’m here majoring in computer science with a minor in mathematics. Before coming to LCSC, I lived in Portland for 3 years, but I’m originally from Japan, and yes, I speak Japanese. My hometown is actually famous for ramen! Also, I love cats, they’re my favorite animal.

Coordinator Suzanne

Suzanne Rousseau, Coordinator

This is my sixth year teaching at LCSC. I started as an adjunct instructor in August of 2012, and quickly worked my way up. I started working as a full-time instructor and also become the Coordinator for the Math and Science Tutoring Center in January, 2015. I divide my time at work between teaching and running the tutoring center. When I’m not working, I often spend a lot of time reading, cooking, or doing things with my nieces. Together, my nieces and I have spent time painting, playing hide and seek, and hunting rocks for LC Valley Rocks.

Although I don’t have set hours in the tutoring center, I sometimes spend my office hours there tutoring. Anytime I’m in my office, please feel free to come by and either ask a quick question or ask me to come to the tutoring center and assist you. I’m always happy to help!
