July 15 - October 7, 2011
Opening Reception July 15, 6PM-8PM
with lecture from artist Scott Schuldt @6PM

A multimedia exhibition of work that documents and examines nature and the impact of man on nature. The images, maps and video show a wilderness that lies well inside the boundaries of a major urban area, a place where nature constantly tries to correct and repair the results of "progress".

Confluence Project: Re-imaging the Columbia River
with artwork by Maya Lin

August 26 - November 4, 2011 | Opening Reception Aug 26. 6pm-8pm
Confluence Project is a collaborative effort of Pacific Northwest tribes, renowned artist Maya Lin, civic groups from Washington and Oregon and other artists, architects and landscape designers. Each of its seven sites features an art installation by Ms. Lin that interprets the area's ecology and history, encouraging the visitor to reflect on how the surroundings have changed over time. Each references a passage from the Lewis and Clark journals. One of these sites is Chief Timothy State Park. This exhibition will include details about the project, including models created by Maya Lin and explanatory graphics and elements related to the project.

Lewiston's Beuk Aie Temple
        Temporarily
Closed
for Reinstallation

CAH's permanent historical exhibition is the Chinese Beuk Aie Temple. Following the devastating fire that the Center experienced on March 5, 2009, the collection was temporarily relocated, cleaned, and inventoried. The Center reopened downtown in September 2010. Due to structural changes to the renovated space, the Temple and its surroundings required an expert review  and will be carefully reinstalled. To learn more Click Here.

Reinstallation of this exhibition is made possible, in part, through the support of National Endowment for the Humanities.
