Do you find
pleasure in fine art? Maybe books and authors are your thing? Perhaps
you have an avid interest in all things historical? Are you searching for
an avenue to involvement in local cultural events? Your interest in
joining us is welcome and greatly appreciated! I hope that learning more
about us will encourage you to take part.
The Center Circle is an
organized group of individuals who donate their time, energy, and
talents to the successful running of the Lewis- Clark Center for Arts
& History. A variety of needs are met through the Center Circle
Volunteers, who provide over 4,000 support hours annually for Art
Under The Elms, Confluence Grape & Grain, The Victorian Tea, Center
Gallery Greeting, CenterPieces Gift Shop and other CAH events and
programming.
Volunteers are the mainstay of
the Center for Arts & History, as for any non-profit organization. The
Center Circle is responsible for the donation of over $24,000.00 In Kind
contributions annually. The donation of volunteer hours to the Center for
Arts is an important mechanism in the receipt of grants from such agencies
as the Idaho Commission on the Arts, the Idaho Humanities Council among
others. We are able to apply a minimum wage to those hours and use the
resulting monetary figure as an In Kind match for grant fund requests,
often times dollar for dollar.
The Center Circle meets for a
monthly Coffee Break in the Center Gallery, on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 10am, where you are brought up to speed on the
various programming and events on our calendar. We get together,
have a little coffee and something to eat, catch up on what's going on
with each other, and go over Center business and needs. It's a great
way to meet people that have similar interests - or to branch out into
something new while helping to improve the quality of life in our
community."
