LEWISTON, Idaho – Mike Nickoli scattered eight hits, all singles, in pitching Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) to a 8-1 victory over Dallas Baptist ( Tex.) in a loser-out game at the 45th annual NAIA Avista Baseball World Series at Harris Field Tuesday.

Nickoli, who walked three batters, also struck out seven in improving his record to 8-2.

The win clinched a berth among the final four teams for the Panthers, who will play at 3:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. Wednesday against either host Lewis-Clark State (53-12) or Western Oregon (41-18). Dallas Baptist completed its season with a record of 40-18.
