Retired Air Force officer will speak about Cold War April 8

LEWISTON, Idaho – Some say the Cold War is heating up again.  Now, there is an opportunity to hear from a retired Air Force pilot who served during the height of the Cold War era of the 1950’s – 1960’s.

Retired USAF Major Jim Connell will deliver a talk titled “The Cold War – Through the Eyes of a Strategic Air Command Aviator” at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, in room 143 of the Lewis-Clark State College Student Union Building.

Major Connell has many years of experience in B-36 and B-52 strategic bombers, flying missions designed to deter nuclear strikes against the U.S.  He is a combat veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars.

His talk is co-sponsored by the LCSC PoliSci Club and the Social Sciences Division.
