Civic Writing Contest asks question ‘Why Vote?’

LEWISTON, Idaho - The Lewis-Clark State College PoliSci Club is conducting its second annual LC Valley Civic Writing Contest, seeking a short answer/essay to the question: “Why vote?” The competition is open to all students (college, high school, middle school, and home school) as long as they live or are attending a school in Asotin County or Nez Perce County.

Submissions must be 1,000 words or less and can be emailed to [email protected] or [email protected].  Submissions may also be mailed to Lewis-Clark State College: Attention Dr. Leif Hoffmann, 500 8th Avenue, Lewiston, Idaho  83501.  Name and contact information must be included in the submission.

The first place prize is $100, the second place prize is $50, and the third place prize is $25.  The deadline for submission is December 1.  Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on December 10.
