Information session offered at LCSC for Prior Experiential Learning

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State College is holding an information session on the school’s Prior Experiential Learning (PEL) program, which offers students an opportunity to earn academic credit for learning that has taken place outside the classroom.  The session is taking place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, In Meriwether Lewis Hall Room 130 on the LCSC campus.

Once known as the Portfolio Program, the program is back with a new name and even more opportunities for working adults to earn a degree.  Through completion of a Prior Experiential Learning Portfolio, adults in the workforce may earn credits based on learning through on-the-job training, professional associations, independent learning projects, and other problem-solving experience.  Credits may also be earned through challenge exams and other formal tests that assess prior learning.

At the January 14 session, the discussion will include ways in which to earn PEL credits, the process, eligibility, and limitations.
