Lineup announced for Dr. Bob Frederick Sport Leadership lectures

LEWISTON, Idaho – The full schedule, including a list of 15 presenters, for the third annual Dr. Bob Frederick Sport Leadership Lecture Series at Lewis-Clark State College has been released. Presentations, all held on campus, will run from Oct. 12-28 and are free and open to the public.

Among the lecturers are Cascade Collegiate Athletic Conference Commissioner Rob Cashell, Director of the Center for Ethics at the University of Idaho Sharon Stoll, Humboldt State University Communications Specialist Dan Pambianco, Spokane Hoopfest Executive Director Matt Santangelo, Clarkston High School Athletic Director Shannon Wilson, and Matt Almond, general manager of IMG College Sport Marketing at Washington State University.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for students and the community to learn from and connect with leaders in the sport industry,” event organizer and LCSC Business Division professor Pete Van Mullem said. “We are very fortunate to have speakers on campus that are well-respected in their field across the northwest and nationally.”

The full presentation schedule including dates, times, and locations is available online: Dr. Bob Frederick Sport Leadership Lecture Series.

Changes to the format this year include more evening sessions, the use of the recently renovated Silverthorne Theatre, and members of the newly formed Student Leadership Club will now introduce the speakers.

The lecture series honors Frederick (pictured above), a former University of Kansas athletic director, for his lifelong commitment to teaching, coaching, and athletic administration. Throughout Frederick’s career he served in a variety of sport leadership roles, many of them at Kansas where he participated as a student-athlete, coached, served as an athletic director, and taught classes in sport management.

The Dr. Bob Frederick Sport Leadership Lecture Series is sponsored by the LCSC Sport Administration Program and the Sport Leadership Club. For more information call 208-792-2467 or email [email protected].
