Health & Wellness Fair is set for LCSC on March 21

LEWISTON, Idaho – The Lewis-Clark State College Student Health Services’ Health & Wellness Fair will be held on March 21 at 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Student Union Building Solarium, located in the basement, south of the cafeteria seating area.

Coordinated by Student Health Services at LCSC, this event is open to the public and includes several free health screenings as well as some low cost screenings. More than 15 businesses and organizations also will have information booths at the event.

No appointment is necessary, but depending on the number of attendees, there could be a wait at some screening areas.

The free screenings will include posture check, derma-scan/skin cancer awareness, tobacco use assessment, diabetic ulcer heel check, pre-diabetes screening, ocular imaging, weight, hearing tests, alcohol self-testing, mental health/depression screening, body mass index check, breast cancer self-check, blood pressure check, bone density check, and body composition and flexibility assessment.

Screenings that require a payment include a hemoglobin A1C test for $10 and a lipid test for $15. There must be 12 hours of fasting with no food or drink expect water prior to either test being administered. Cash or checks will be accepted for payment.

Also, information on weight and wellness, cervical cancer, and pharmacy, optical/hearing tests will be available.

There will be representatives from Alpine Vision Center, Clearview Eye Clinic, Costco, Eastgate Chiropractic, GNC, Pathologist’s Regional Laboratory, North Central Idaho District Health Department, Smart Fitness, St. Joseph Breast Imaging Center, St. Joseph Outpatient Mental Health, Tri-State Memorial Hospital, Valley Medical Center Weight & Wellness, LCSC Student Counseling Center, LCSC Kinesiology program, and the LCSC Nursing program at the event to answer questions and provide information.
